Ilya Volykhine was born in 1967 and grew up in Russia USSR. He emigrated to the USA (NewYorkCity) in 1991 and has been living in Sydney since late 2000. He has been a practicing artist since 1992. In 2003 his portrait of sculptor Ken Unsworth was exhibited in The Art Gallery of New South Wales’ prestigious Archibald Prize Exhibition.
